April 12, 2011

It’s strange how the people around me so often seem to be the last one’s I photograph. I know that it isn’t true for many photographers, and it’s something that I absolutely need to change. Tonight I was able to hang out with an old friend, an amazing guy I haven’t seen in a long time, and I’m better for it.  Sometimes a solid, simple portrait is exactly right. Just like Lonnie – Solid. Thanks man.

FYI – Something cool about this shot is that it looks like studio lighting. Street lights. That’s it. One for the key, one the edge, and ambient takes care of the rest.

It was an amazing hang… and an amazing part of the city that I have never been to (which is a LOT to say for me – who is pretty familiar with almost every part of Los Angeles).

Union Pacific – indeed the place that time forgot.

Thanks for the hang, and thanks for the extremely cool shot!
