My final New York entry before returning to Los Angeles. Today was another great day of walking and photography, and I produced many images. What I find interesting about this shot is how the curvature of snow on this partially frozen lake makes my eye want to believe that the photo itself is actually curved. This feature, and the stacking of textures, combine to create an interesting illusion.

Is the water yearning to reach out into the ice field & retake it’s surface

Or is the ice closing in it’s shoreline target?

Fantastic perspective, textural elements of bark, curving, snow covered trunks & the varied surface of the water

Terrific end to a your NY ‘series’. It was a nice journey from cityscapes, across rural suburbs, & into nature
