January 1, 2010

My first entry of 2011, and I’m off to a good start. Today’s photo is exciting because it’s one of the only photos I’ve ever wanted to be so cool in color. Typically I like my images to be on the warmer side, and even when I start out thinking something should be cool, I invariably push the color back to being warm. This photograph started blue, and blue it shall stay.

Adrianna is an old friend who has modeled for me a number of times over the last few years. She is a wonderful subject, and I always produce something something fresh with her, which after shooting erotica for so long, is challenging to say the least. Heading out on my own this evening I found this incredible location, and began shooting like crazy. I quickly realized that although I was creating some beautiful images, adding a gorgeous model would be amazing. Phoning back to base camp, Adrianna agreed to posing nude, so I rushed back to get her. Losing light by the second, and posing naked in 40 degree weather meant that I had to work very quickly. There are many fantastic images, but this is definitely my favorite. Hugs and thanks to Adrianna for posing in less than optimum temperatures.

    Hi Ben!
I know the model looks amazing, but with the setting, the composition, it’s just wow…

Thanks so much Joel. “Wow” is a wonderful compliment! And yes, sometimes everything just comes to together. Interestingly I knew that I would have some solid work, but these images were a wonderful surprise when editing. Working so quickly, I was really shooting from the hip, and trusting my instincts. Thanks again.
