Pure color play…It’s interesting because I have a good friend who is a wonderful photographer, and we’ve been discussing how environment can almost disable one’s ability to find and capture art in very ordinary, ie. dull, places. I still contend that art is always around you. Though images like these may push what one thinks of, and chooses to call photography, I say why not “paint” with the camera? And by the way, in case you were wondering, this is nothing more than a photograph of trees.

After a big wedding shoot we headed down to the beach for a few last images. One look up and I new this would be good. A tricky shot, using my camera pack as a wedge I stuck the bottom of the camera in the sand, held my breath, and using the weight of my hand stabilized the lens. With an extremely long 13 second exposure time I’m thrilled it actually worked!
